Creatures of the
Water Garden
Do plants only grow in soil?
What is a water garden?
What creatures live within a water garden?
This Sustainable STEM activity can be both a stand alone workshop OR is a fantastic follow on from our Water Garden (Hydroponics) workshop.
In this activity plants are grown in water... but there's a twist.
Our twist happens to be a pair of yabbies and/or fish that will help the plants grow (and the centre gets to keep them with the aquaponics unit).
Children will learn how to construct a small aquaponics unit in which they can grow some vegetables like lettuce.
Children will learn to look at common items and adapt them for new purposes.

All workshops come with a pdf Educator Resource which includes:

• Synopsis & Analysis of Learning
• Links to NQF, EYLF, MTOP & Australian Curriculum
• Risk Assessments
• SDS if applicable
• Extension questions, ideas and/or activities
• Critical reflection questions
