The Spaceship Tree (part one)
The Attack of the Pinky Ponky
Can you take a 2D shape and turn it into a 3D structure that you can stand inside?
Can you identify simple shapes and patterns and then expand your knowledge?
Do you have some budding engineers in your group/class?
In this unique workshop, children will explore mathematical and engineering concepts as well as simple machines to create a giant geodesic dome. Children will learn about patterns and how they are used in geodesic structures.
This Storytime STEM workshop introduces the original series The Spaceship Tree to viewers on the giant Storytime STEM Storybook.
This workshop allows children to take basic shapes and patterns to make a large geodisic dome that they can walk in. Once inside the children will have the opportunity to "steer", the spaceship treehouse "across the universe", while avoiding meteor showers, space debris and the elusive Pinky Ponky.
Children will suspend disbelief as they use simple machines and some imagination to be just like the Spaceship Tree crew.
