Welcome to The Living Things
School Circuit
Discovering the Wonders of the Natural World!
Embark on an Exciting Exploration of Living Things-themed Activities and STEM Education! Are you ready to delve into the fascinating world of living organisms and their environments? Join us for an enlightening experience designed for primary school students as we explore the wonders of living things in our Living Things School Circuit!
Discover the Intricacies of Living Organisms and Their Habitats
What makes bugs so unique? How do living things interact with their environment? How can we care for and protect them? These are just some of the questions we'll explore in this engaging STEM activity. Through hands-on experiments and interactive learning, children will uncover the mysteries of living organisms and gain a deeper understanding of their importance in our ecosystem.
Hands-On Exploration and Experiments
🐞 Live Bugs Meet and Greet
Get up close with fascinating live insects in this hands-on experience designed to spark curiosity about the natural world. Children will safely handle and observe a variety of bugs under expert supervision, learning about their life processes, habitats, and behaviours.
🔄 Life Cycle Puzzle Challenge
Children will explore how living things grow and change by completing engaging life cycle puzzles featuring insects, amphibians, and plants. This station supports understanding of reproduction and life processes in a tactile, visual way—perfect for primary science learning.
🔬 Microscopic Discovery Zone
Step into the unseen world! Children will use magnifiers and microscopes to investigate leaves, insects, and natural materials. This station promotes observation skills and introduces children to structures too small for the eye to see, helping them understand how form relates to function.
🕯 DIY Beeswax Candle Making
In this calming and tactile station, children will roll their own beeswax candle while learning how bees produce wax and the role energy plays in the survival of living things. A great way to combine fine motor skills with environmental learning.
🦴 Dinosaur Fossil & Skeleton Station
Unearth the past! Children will handle real and replica fossils, examine bones, and discover how skeletons tell the story of how creatures once lived. With a focus on brain size, limb structure, and prehistoric comparisons, this activity brings ancient science to life.
🧠 Animal Fact Sorting & Skeleton Match
Children will sort toy animals, bones, and facts to uncover how different species eat, move, grow, and survive. This interactive station introduces classification, adaptations, and anatomy in a fun, hands-on format that links directly to the science curriculum.
