Workshop Information

What makes a hovercraft glide? Hover and Out is a high-energy, hands-on STEM workshop where children explore air pressure, forces, friction and motion through practical investigation and engineering. Children make predictions, test ideas and observe how changes in airflow and force affect movement. They experience the science in action, turning abstract physics concepts into something they can see, feel and understand. Along the way, children develop problem-solving, teamwork, scientific reasoning and engineering thinking as they test, compare and refine their ideas. The workshop is active, exciting and highly memorable, with plenty of opportunities for children to investigate cause and effect while having a seriously fun time. Best suited to children aged 5–12 years, including primary schools, OSHC and vacation care groups. Beyond the Beanstalk brings the specialist equipment and materials needed for the workshop. We just ask that you let us know about your available space and floor surface when booking so we can prepare appropriately.
