Workshop Information

Join Beyond the Beanstalk’s Jurassic Walk and travel back to the prehistoric era. This STEM workshop provides a unique learning experience where you will discover fascinating facts about dinosaurs, their size, eating habits and how fossilization occurred. Not only will you learn about these magnificent creatures, but you will also get the chance to put together a life-size footprint. Take the first step in expanding your knowledge and embark on a thrilling journey with Beyond the Beanstalk. This STEAM activity introduces children to science, maths and some good old fashioned sleuthing. Children will use our dinosaur trackway to look at different dinosaur footprints and hypothesise which dinosaurs came walked first. Were they migrating? Were they hunting? Were they running to escape? This is what your group will have to determine using some scientific methods. The group will then split into teams and have to puzzle together some life size dinosaur footprint puzzle pieces. They will gain a greater understanding of just how big these creatures truly were. When the puzzle pieces are all assembled, the children will be able to demonstrate how big these creatures were, if they were carnivorous, herbivore's or omnivores. Next the children will get to play games that mimick the trackway experience for greater understanding. After this, children will create their own fossil-like dino print. Everyone will then get to help create a giant mural of a trackway to display within the service.
