How do wheels, axles and steering work together to make a vehicle move? Mini Mechanics puts children in the role of engineers as they investigate movement, mechanical systems and design through a hands-on Billy-kart challenge. Children explore how forces affect motion and how mechanical components work together. They observe, test and compare ideas as they build an understanding of simple mechanical systems. Working collaboratively, children solve practical problems, refine their thinking and consider how small changes can influence performance. The workshop encourages engineering thinking, teamwork, persistence and evidence-based problem-solving while making mechanics exciting and accessible.
