Sunny Side Up

Workshop Information

Get ready for a radiant experience as children dive into the world of solar power, discovering the secrets of harnessing the sun's energy. In this engaging session, budding scientists will conduct experiments to unravel what elements and components maximize heat absorption in their solar ovens. As a group, they'll embark on the exciting journey of building a solar oven, witnessing firsthand the power of the sun at their fingertips. The highlight of "Sunny Side Up" is the chance for each child to bake their very own sun catcher using the solar oven they've collectively created. While the suncatchers aren’t edible, these unique creations will capture the essence of the sun, serving as a tangible reminder of their solar-powered adventure. We wonder what else you could bake in the solar oven. While there's one solar oven for the educational service to keep, each child leaves with their handmade sun catcher and the knowledge of how to continue experimenting with solar cooking at home. Join us for Beyond the Beanstalk’s Sunny Side Up workshop and let the sun's brilliance light up the world of sustainable STEM learning for your child!
