What makes an insect an insect, and how are different species adapted to survive? The Insectarium invites children to investigate the fascinating world of insects through close observation, comparison and hands-on biological science. Children explore body features, adaptations and biodiversity while asking questions about how insects live, move and interact with their environments. The workshop encourages careful observation, classification and scientific reasoning as children compare specimens and identify patterns across different insects. By connecting insect biology with ecosystems and biodiversity, The Insectarium helps children understand the important roles small creatures play in the natural world. Perfect for early learning, primary schools and OSHC groups looking for an engaging life science experience. Beyond the Beanstalk brings the specialist equipment and workshop resources to your service for approximately 75 minutes of hands-on STEM discovery.
