The Insectarium


Workshop Information

The Insectarium delves further into the world of the creepy crawlies. Children will have the opportunity to look at and hold a variety of insects such as giant snails, spiny leaf insects, giant cockroaches, giant millipedes and view others such as spiders, scorpions, centipedes and more! Using team work and the STEM concept of engineering, children will race to construct an insect enclosure to house 2 spiny leaf insects. The centre gets to keep the fastest teams insect enclosure and 2 spiny leaf insects (seasonal)! Beyond the Beanstalks Insectarium invites you to venture beyond the ordinary, unlocking the wonders of entomology and fostering a deeper appreciation for the vital role insects play in our ecosystem. Please advise at time of booking if you do not want to keep the insects and an alternate activity will be provided. ​ *Stick insects are low maintenance pets that you do not need a license to keep and exhibit in NSW, ACT or QLD. ** We provide you with the equipment needed to care for the insect, all you need to do is give them fresh gum leaves.
