What makes a crystal grow, sparkle and take its incredible shape? The Where the Crystals Grow STEM Workshop takes children on a hands-on journey into the fascinating science of crystals, minerals and geology. Children explore what crystals are, how they form and the different conditions that influence crystal growth, including supersaturated solutions, evaporation, heat and pressure. Through hands-on investigation, observation and problem-solving, children examine crystal and mineral properties, look for patterns, make comparisons and discover how some of nature’s most striking structures are created. The workshop blends geology, chemistry and earth science with tactile exploration and plenty of opportunities for children to question, predict, investigate and discover. It’s a colourful, engaging STEM experience designed for curious young minds who love crystals, gems, rocks and finding out how the natural world works. Perfect for early learning, preschool, primary school and OSHC groups looking for an engaging crystal STEM workshop packed with hands-on investigation.
