Welcome to Jurassic Walk Storytime STEM Workshop
Join Beyond the Beanstalk’s Jurassic Walk and travel back to the prehistoric era. This immersive STEM workshop offers a unique learning experience where students will uncover fascinating facts about dinosaurs, their size, eating habits, and the process of fossilisation.
Perfectly tailored for teachers and early childhood educators, our workshop aligns with the EYLF, MTOP, and Australian Curriculum to ensure an enriching educational journey.
Discover Dinosaurs and Fossils
Children will embark on an exciting adventure to learn about these magnificent creatures:
Dinosaur Facts: Explore the size, diets, and habits of various dinosaurs.
Fossilization: Understand how fossils are formed and what they tell us about the past.
Life-Size Footprint Puzzle:
Children will piece together life-size dinosaur footprint puzzles, gaining a tangible understanding of the immense size of these ancient animals. They will determine if the dinosaurs were carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores based on the assembled footprints.
Dinosaur Trackway Analysis:
Using our dinosaur trackway, children will examine different footprints and hypothesise about the dinosaurs' behaviours. Were they migrating, hunting, or running to escape? Through scientific methods, children will uncover the story behind the tracks.
Interactive Games and Creative Projects:
Children will engage in games that mimic the trackway experience, enhancing their understanding through play. They will also create their own fossil-like dino prints and collaborate to design a giant mural of a trackway to display within the service.
