Welcome to The Spaceship Tree: The Floating Menace Stepped Up STEM Workshop
Embark on an Exciting Journey into Physics with The Floating Menace Workshop!
Tailored for children aged 2-5 and 5-12, this hands-on workshop is designed to captivate young minds with the fascinating principles of air, pressure, vortices, and aerodynamics. Perfect for teachers and early childhood educators, our programme aligns seamlessly with the EYLF, MTOP, and Australian Curriculum
.
Discover the Magic of Physics
Interactive Learning:
Air Cannons:Â Children will engage with our vortex cannons and build their own air cannon to take home. This activity introduces them to the science of motion and air pressure through exciting, hands-on experiments. By observing how air moves in circular patterns to create vortices, students gain insight into how pressure differences can influence the movement of objects. Each child will test and shoot a ping pong ball through their homemade cannon, applying and understanding the concepts of air pressure and force in a tangible way.
Outdoor Exploration:
Physics in Action:Â Encourage students to explore the principles of physics in an outdoor setting, fostering interactive play and a deeper understanding of how air and pressure work in the real world. This station demonstrates the effects of wind and air pressure on different objects, helping students grasp how these forces can be harnessed and observed in their environment.
Spaceship Tree Series Story:
Engaging Narrative:Â Dive into an exciting story from our Spaceship Tree Series, where children follow the adventures of the crew as they encounter The Floating Menace. This narrative element brings the scientific concepts to life, making learning both fun and memorable.
Educational Integration
Our Floating Menace Workshop is thoughtfully designed to support the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), My Time, Our Place (MTOP), and the Australian Curriculum.
