Perfectly suited for teachers and early childhood educators, our programme aligns with the EYLF, MTOP, and Australian Curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
An Out-of-This-World Adventure
Explore the Universe:
Beyond Our Planet:Â Discover what lies beyond our planet and learn about the vast universe around us. Students will gain an understanding of planetary systems and the concept of light years, connecting their exploration to the science of space travel and celestial distances.
Star Constellations:Â Identify and name constellations in the sky, enhancing your understanding of the night sky. This activity introduces students to the concept of stellar patterns and how ancient cultures used constellations for navigation, linking astronomy to historical and cultural contexts.
Celestial Illumination Concentrator:
Interactive Storytelling:Â Join Chris, Vinnie, Cara, and Ivy on their latest adventure in The Spaceship Tree: Universe Reversed. Through interactive storytelling, students will explore the narrative's scientific themes, understanding how stories can illustrate complex space phenomena in an accessible way.
Create a Planetarium:Â Learn about and create your own Celestial Illumination Concentrator (planetarium) as featured in the story. Students will see how light and shadows can simulate the night sky, learning about the physics of light projection and how it can be used to recreate celestial views.
Hands-On Learning and Creativity
STEM Activities for All Ages:
All students will create their own constellation projectors, delving into the science of light and optics. They will explore how light interacts with different materials to create shadows and patterns, understanding the importance of darkened areas combined with USB lights. This hands-on activity fosters creativity while teaching the principles of light projection and shadow play in an engaging and fun way.
