Watch as your child becomes an explorer and engineer through a series of exciting activities:
Metal Detection Exploration: Students begin by using large metal detectors to uncover hidden metals. They learn how metal detectors create reactions when they come into contact with different types of metals, sparking curiosity and excitement.
Understanding Reactions: Through guided experiments, kids gain an understanding of how ferrous metals interact with electromagnetic fields. This foundational knowledge sets the stage for the next phase of their adventure.
Handheld Metal Detector Construction: With newfound knowledge, students move on to constructing their own handheld metal detectors. This hands-on activity challenges them to apply what they've learned, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
Testing and Exploration: After building their detectors, kids test their creations in a fun and engaging environment. They hunt for hidden treasures, reinforcing their understanding of metal detection and celebrating their engineering success.

What is Supercharged STEM ?
Super-Charged STEM workshops are exclusively available for OOSH centres and present a critical thinking challenge with a strong emphasis on STEM aspects of learning. These team-based activities encourage higher-level thinking and problem-solving, fostering collaboration and independent learning. Each workshop concludes with a take-home project, allowing students to extend their exploration and deepen their understanding.
