Dive into a world of thrilling chemical reactions with our Chemistry Chaos Workshop, where children aged 5-12 experience the wonders of science through hands-on experiments. In this engaging environment, students explore the fundamentals of chemistry while aligning with the Australian Curriculum and My Time Our Place (MTOP) standards.
Discover Chemical Wonders!
Watch as your child becomes a junior scientist, exploring exciting chemistry stations:
Viscosity Race:Â Students experiment with different fluids to understand how pressure and gravity impact their flow. This fun race challenges them to observe and measure viscosity in a competitive and educational setting.
Exploding Vinegars:Â Kids combine vinegar with baking soda and other reactive substances to create mini rockets that fizz and foam. This station demonstrates the principles of chemical reactions in a visually spectacular way.
Volcanoes Galore: Participants use various reactants to create a series of volcanic eruptions. They’ll experience the thrill of seeing their homemade volcanoes explode with vibrant, bubbling lava.
Groovy Goop: At this station, students mix ingredients to create a goop that reacts to sound frequencies. They’ll be fascinated by how their goop jiggles and wiggles when exposed to different pitches and volumes.
Rubber Fidget Creation: The workshop culminates with an engaging project where students combine ingredients to initiate a chemical reaction that transforms a stretchy mixture into a bouncy rubber fidget. They observe firsthand how the reaction alters the material’s properties from flexible to firm.
Create and Innovate!
The experience culminates with a Chemistry Concoction activity, where students mix heat and oils to produce a custom rub-in balm to take home. This final project reinforces their learning and provides a tangible keepsake from their scientific adventure.

What is Supercharged STEMÂ ?
Super-Charged STEM workshops are exclusively available for OOSH centres and present a critical thinking challenge with a strong emphasis on STEM aspects of learning. These team-based activities encourage higher-level thinking and problem-solving, fostering collaboration and independent learning. Each workshop concludes with a take-home project, allowing students to extend their exploration and deepen their understanding.
