Take learning to new heights with Flight Club!
Get ready to investigate the science of flight, movement and aerodynamics in this action-packed, hands-on STEM experience.
Flight Club invites children to experiment, test, observe and discover as they explore the forces that help objects move through the air. Through a rotating series of interactive investigations and challenges, students will explore how different designs, shapes and forces can completely change the way something flies.

Explore the Science of Flight
From floating and gliding to launching and spinning, children will investigate aerodynamics through hands-on experimentation.
Rather than simply being shown how something works, students are encouraged to predict, test, modify and try again, developing their understanding through real-world observations and plenty of experimentation.
Hands-On Aerodynamics
Throughout the workshop, children will rotate through a variety of flight-inspired STEM investigations.
Activities explore concepts including:
Lift, drag, thrust and gravity
Air pressure and airflow
Shape and aerodynamic design
Forces and motion
Cause and effect
Testing, modifying and improving designs
STEM Through Experimentation
Flight Club is designed to get children thinking, testing and discovering.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, make predictions and investigate what happens when they change different variables. Some ideas will soar, some may take an unexpected turn, and others might need a little redesign — all part of the engineering process!
The workshop combines Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in an energetic environment where experimentation is at the centre of the experience.

What is Supercharged STEM?
Super-Charged STEM workshops are exclusively available for OOSH centres and present a critical thinking challenge with a strong emphasis on STEM aspects of learning. These team-based activities encourage higher-level thinking and problem-solving, fostering collaboration and independent learning. Each workshop concludes with a take-home project, allowing students to extend their exploration and deepen their understanding.
