Welcome to Beyond The Beanstalk's Mini Mechanics Workshop

Unleash Your Inner Engineer with Mini Mechanics!

Step into the exciting world of engineering with our Mini Mechanics Workshop, where children aged 5-12 work together to build and race their own Billy-karts. This hands-on experience combines teamwork and mechanical skills, providing an engaging way for students to explore the principles of vehicle construction.

Discover the Thrill of Building and Racing!

Watch as your child becomes a mini engineer through a series of exciting activities:

  • Billy-Kart Construction: Students collaborate in teams to build a person-powered Billy-kart. Guided by instructors, they learn about the structural properties and mechanics involved in creating a vehicle. This activity promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and practical engineering skills.

  • Racing Adventure: Once the Billy-karts are built, students take to the track for a thrilling race. This exciting event allows them to test their creations, understand the dynamics of movement, and experience the joy of their engineering success.

  • Disassembly and Learning: After the race, students disassemble the Billy-karts, ensuring they understand the structural components and how each part contributes to the vehicle's movement. This process reinforces their learning and highlights the importance of each mechanical element.

  • License Plate Creation: The workshop concludes with students designing their own personalised license plates, a fun and creative keepsake that celebrates their achievements in the workshop.

Create and Innovate!

The experience culminates with students taking home their custom license plates, a tangible reminder of their engineering journey and teamwork. This final project reinforces their learning and provides a memorable keepsake from their adventure.
