Grandpa's Bubbling Sandpit

Have you ever wanted to make a sandpit bubble?

How does a bubbling sandpit work?

Are you ready for a science workshop like no other?
 

Have you met Beyond the Beanstalk's Grandpa?
He first appeared in our Jurassic Dig story and now he's back with a bubbling invention to share
with you!

Grandpa's bubbling sandpit is a STEM workshop like no other!
In this workshop children will explore the world of science and engineering by experimenting with a fluidised air bed experiment, children can observe how air flows through sand and how different objects that it interacts with. This is a great way to introduce children to the concepts of physics and engineering in a fun and engaging way.


Children will also get to explore Bernoulli's Principle, conduct experiments looking at the fluidity of sand, and they will also be able to keep their very own batch of kinetic sand. 

All equipment is provided, and educators will also receive an educator resource, handling all of the necessary paperwork. This means educators can join in the fun!

Workshop Inclusions

  • 1 x STEM Presenters (approximately 1.5 hour workshop)

  • 1 x risk assessment

  • Resources for up to 30 children, contact us about additional pricing for larger groups

Workshop Requirements

  • This workshop can be modified for each age group, please specify on booking form.

  • Access to an electrical power outlet. 

  • Tables and chairs for sandpit usage.
